The incident occurred on December 6, in Wawer, near Warsaw, in Poland.
The family dog has suffered serious consequences after taking an interest in the package that has just been delivered to the house by the courier.
Throw the package over the fence
As one reports local source, the owners of the house received a Christmas package containing some sweets. Unfortunately, the courier didn’t ring the intercom, but he has threw the package over the fence and he’s gone.
None of the family knew there was a parcel in the garden, the one and a half year old Labrador was the only one interested in the parcel.
Dog poisoned by chocolate
The dog decided to check what was in the box. There was a Chocolate Santa Clauswhose pet he immediately devoured.
His body reacted immediately: the Labrador was vomiting, diarrhea and convulsions, typical symptoms of chocolate poisoning.
Fortunately, Izyy he survived. For two days, however, he felt really bad and the visit to the vet cost the family dearly.
The owner’s anger
Mr. Błażej described the situation to the courier. The company has communicated to take care of the money refund for the damaged package, but not the invoice from the vet.
“Offering to cover the cost of a ‘damaged’ shipment, completely ignoring the fact that the entire situation is due to your approach to service and the customer. Which could have led to a Christmas spent mourning the death of a family member, yes Izzy is a full member of our family,” Mr. Błażej told the company.
We hope that the company will also cover the cost of the pet’s care. Couriers are very busy over the Christmas period, but that doesn’t mean they can go about their job carelessly.
