On December 7, 2022 Spike got a Guinness World Record after being named the oldest living dog in the world.

The Chihuahua has accomplished 23 years on November 10 and lives with his Kimball family in Camden, USA.

The original record holder, Pebbles, also a Chihuahua, passed away in October at the age of 22.

Spikes story

As read on whio.comSpike was adopted by chance. One day in 2009, after going to the supermarket and getting into their car, the Kimball family was “chased” by the little dog, who then jumped in!

Shortly thereafter Spike was taken to a local vet, who announced to the family that Spike was born on November 10, 1999. This means that Spike has 124 years in human years.

During his 23 years, the four-legged has been through a lot: he even risked being eaten by a coyote and was even attacked by a Pit bull.

What iron health, Spike!
