In a Greek restaurant, a man lures a kitten and throws it into the water

At the beginning of the month of maggio 2022, a scene of absolute cruelty went around the world.

It all starts when three people dine out in one ristorante on the sea on the island of Evia, in Greece.

A kitten thrown into the water

Due stray kittens are approaching asking for food and one of the restaurant guests holds a small fish on his hand to encourage the kittens to come closer. From here then everything falls. The man grabs one of the two kittens and he throws it into the sea amid the laughter of the woman who accompanies him. The other kitten, fortunately, manages to escape.

Fortunately the kitten was saved by passers-by and taken to the vet, where he was rescued in time. As for the man guilty of this cruel act, it was arrested by local authorities thanks to numerous complaints.

The condemnation of the law

The Greek deputy Takis Theodorikakos spoke about this sad case on his social networks to underline the horror of this situation and its absolutely unacceptable nature:

“Violence against animals is unacceptable. The government has passed a strict law on the protection of animals against abuse, which is now in force, but in any case it is a question of humanity and culture. I am deeply saddened by those who mistreat animals and those who tolerate it ”.

If found guilty of animal abuse, the man faces conviction up to 10 years of imprisonment and a maximum fine of 50.000 euro.
