In fact, this 4-month-old pooch is fromunusual crossing of two dog breeds.
An unwanted litter
Its owner Erin Bracht, who lives in Oregon (USA), said that Finnagen is the result of a accidental litterthe result of crossing a medium-sized dog breed and a large one.
His mother is a 27kg Golden Retriever and his father is a 50kg Bernese Mountain Dog. Finnagen’s origins were discovered by accident by the people Erin got him from who knew the dog’s history.
A viral video
On March 5, Erin uploaded the popular clip she received over 2 million views on his TikTok account. The girl added a text on the first part of the video asking users if they had ever seen this mixed breed dog before, and then framed Finnagen.
There are thousands of comments, positive and negative. Some people are remained upset from this mestizo, making many wrong assumptions, while others they fell in love of this adorable little dog.
The advantages of crossing two dog breeds
It is now known that crossing two dog breeds has some advantages: for years breeders from all over the world have mated dogs with different characteristics (both physical and temperamental) to obtain puppies with the best traits of both parents.
In fact, a crossbreed is generally healthier than a purebred dog because of the larger gene pool from which their DNA is selected.
The experts, however, they advise against breed dogs that are of different sizes or have breed-specific health problems as this could lead to less healthy offspring. For example, crossing a Pug and a French Bulldog, two brachycephalic dogs, can actually increase the likelihood of respiratory problems.
