About three years ago, during a run along a trail in Etobicoke Park in Toronto, in Canadatwo runners came across an unusual object.
On the side of the road there was one suitcase in a rather unfrequented corner. A little stressed, but equally curious, the two men approached the suitcase and noticed that it moved slightly.
A terrible abandonment
Fearing at first that a wild animal was trapped in there, the runners slowly opened the luggage and immediately managed to catch their breath: it was a little dog who, intrigued, approached them with the tip of her muzzle!
Not knowing what to do, the two contacted employees of Toronto Animal Services who quickly arrived on the spot.
Upon examining the scene, it was quickly concluded that the dog had been locked up in the topmost suitcase and thrown down that path.
A rescue on the edge
Between the ages of 5 and 7, the dog enjoyed a good health and without a doubt had given birth of puppies recently.
Casey, the new four-legged name, showed no signs of neglect or abuse. But if she hadn’t been found so quickly, she no doubt she would have suffered from the cold and would not have survived.
