Sunday March 19. We are at Randazzo (CT). A man walks quietly with his bike taking advantage of the beautiful sunny day of Father’s Day, when suddenly something attracts his attention.
On the side of a fast-moving road lay a little bag strange looking. Stopped to observe it, the man on the bike hears barking coming from inside. So, without thinking twice, he opens it.
An inhuman act
Inside the bag were four puppies of just three weeks. The little ones were almost suffocating in there.
In a panic, the man calls the Municipal who, unfortunately, is unable to help him in time. So he decides to take the abandoned dogs to the Etna Animal Refuge.
The little ones have not yet been visited by the vet, but they are all alive fortunately. Ernesta, Rita and Cinziathe good souls who care for more than 52 animals in their shelter, they immediately started with feedings. The little ones, in fact, had urgent need of milk and a warm place. In that bag, with the freezing temperatures of the evening, they would not have spent the night, but luckily in this world there are still angels on earth who manage to save the lives of the most defenseless.
We still need help
We talked to Cynthia Biondivolunteer of the Etneo Refuge and communication manager, who confided in us that, despite all their commitment and the free donations of some people, the situation for the refuge is becoming very complicated.
«The owner of the land has been wanting to sell it for some time. We don’t have all the money it takes to buy it back. We have found another less expensive piece of land, but we are going from 2,400 square meters of land to just 1,000».
It is clear what to enter all 52 dogs welcomed by Ernesta, Rita and Cinzia in just 1,000 square meters it will not be easy. The volunteers hope to be able to find a home, whether in Italy or abroad, for as many four-legged friends as possible and ensure that they can get all the love they deserve.
But the expense of taking up new ground and rearranging everything is also a lot, that’s why one was launched collection on Gofundme to whom each of us can participate.
We need everyone’s help to help our animal friends and to help Ernesta, Rita and Cinzia carry on their mission.
