It is in the state of Illinois this week that the story we are about to tell you took place. It all started when a dog was found abandoned and tied up out to a restaurant Burger King with just one ticket.
On the paper was the name of the little dog, but also his date of birth. The note also specified that the dog was particularly gentle and affectionate.
He was quickly looked after by local police who confirmed the little dog was adorable and indicated they were heartbroken at this abandonment, no doubt done reluctantly.
As the hours passed and after no one had heard from the humans of the little dog named King, the dog was taken to the shelter South Suburban Humane Society. And then everything changed…
A difficult abandonment
As hopes of finding King’s owners faded, the latter went to the shelter to explain their situation.
They said they attached the note to their dog’s collar before asking someone to contact police so King could be found quickly. They also explained that they are in a difficult time due to health problems and have repented that I had to make such a decision.
The police decision
Faced with the obvious regrets of King’s humans and all the love they have for their pet, shelter volunteers and police officers decided the best thing was give them a second chance.
The little dog will stay in the kennel while his humans sort out their issues and stabilize. They can then get King back. In case their situation doesn’t improve within a few weeks, the dog will be placed up for adoption.
In their Facebook post, the local police said they wanted to choose kindness and did not want to judge a choice obviously made out of obligation.
