A donna of Houston, Texas (United States), was returning home when his attention was drawn to a sort of blue bin.
Behind it, between old disused mattresses and piles of garbagethere were two stray dogs in desperate need of help.
Scared, hungry and alone
The woman promptly reported the two stray dogs to theHouston Dog Rescuea local shelter, who agreed to come and pick up the two puppies.
When rescuers arrived, they set traps to catch the two frightened dogs and immediately managed to capture the female dog and her puppy. However, they quickly realized that these two dogs were part of a whole familymade up of mom, dad, three daughters and grandmother.
It was not easy to catch all the dogs, but in the end they did it and all the members of the small family, safe and sound, gathered at the shelter, where they could receive a good meal and where they could take a sweet nap in a warm and safe place.
A new beginning
Shelter staff soon discovered that the two-year-old female dog, who she now goes by Naomiwas a very sweet and affectionate dog, while hers puppies, a bit shy, have slowly become familiar with the staff. The father, aged two, who is now called Thomas, took a little longer to settle in and was very shy when not around the rest of his canine family. There nonna at 10, on the other hand, she adapted perfectly to the changes and loved being with the staff with whom she took long walks.

While the rest of the family has gone into foster care in anticipation of finding a forever home, the two youngest puppies, Shannon and Christel, will remain at the shelter with their grandmother for the time being. Good life doggies!
