On Friday 7 October 2022, the case of a man attacked from a Pitbull dog it became national news in Mexico.
It is José N., 32, who that day entered a house in the Copoya neighborhood of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the most important city in the Mexican state of Chapas, with the intention of to steal.
However, his plans fell apart, because the one he wanted to steal was the house of Maxa Pitbull who did not hesitate to defend his territory.
Consequences of the attack
The dog reacted aggressively to defend his home and attacked the person who had entered the house. Max’s bites have almost detached one arm to José N., who was taken to hospital in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the dog has been placed under observationas indicated by the health risks department of the municipality of Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
Subsequently, the news spread on social networks that Max would be suppressed, with the consequent disappointment of a large number of users, even if some isolated voice would have wanted euthanasia for the dog.
But will Max have to die?
Finally, Monday 10 October 2022, Alfredo Ruiz Coutinodirector of health risks of the municipality of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, clarified that the dog would not have been shot downsince he had not committed any attack on the public road.

«The municipal authority does not contemplate the sacrifice of an animal, we have not found elements to start a sanctioning process. It must be clear that this authority does not contemplate any sacrifice, ”explained Ruiz Coutiño.
It is also important to point out that the owners of the dog did not commit any crime, as theanimal has not left their home at no time, nor did he endanger security in public space. Max only did his duty! We are happy that he can return home!
