Life with a pet is full of joys, you know. But also pain, especially when they have to leave us forever.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is an immensely sad experience, as is the case with heartbroken owner Sarah Keith.

A heartbreaking message

To his dog Ella he was diagnosed with oral cancer and battled arthritis towards the end of his 12-year life.

To give her the best possible goodbye, the woman posted an urgent plea on her Facebook profile on Saturday, Feb. 4 in which she asked other dog owners to join her for one last day at the beach with Ella.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that Ella has been diagnosed with oral cancer. She will be put to sleep forever on Monday late afternoon.’

And he added:

“I would like organize one last run for her on the beach of Fraisthorpe, Monday, before he makes his last journey. She is a Border Collie and she loves to run with other dogs. She has been somewhat limited in recent years because I have tried to protect her as much as possible from wear and tear and worsening arthritis. Now she doesn’t matter anymore. I’d like her to go away with a bang. If you can, join us on the beach for our rainbow walk.”

Last walk in great company

And so it was. When Sarah traveled to Fraisthorpe Beach (UK) on Monday 6th February, she was amazed to be greeted by more than 30 dogs. He never imagined that so many other owners would be supportive.
