Afraid of the barrels that were fired in the days leading up to the New Year, toothless he threw himself from the third floor of an apartment in Trapani on the evening of 28 December.

Seized by desperation, the honey-colored mixed-breed dog would have fled from those moments of terror. Around him, the residents, who assisted him until help arrived.

The rescue of the Oipa Trapani volunteers

Called by the municipal police, the volunteers of the Oipa of Trapani immediately rescued the dog.

Transferred to a local veterinary clinic, visit her ruled out internal bleeding and serious injury. After such a flight, the six-year-old dog might as well have died.

“In the late afternoon we were contacted by the local police of Trapani to report the presence of a medium-sized dog that had fallen from the 3rd floor of a building, probably due to the noise of firecrackers”, write the Oipa Trapani volunteers on their Facebook page.

«The OIPA volunteers, Baldo and Natalia, immediately rushed to the scene to try to save the animal. In a short time the little one was recovered and transferred to a veterinary clinic for treatment. Luckily he didn’t have any internal bleeding or serious injuries.’

And they conclude:

«Given that the dog is microchipped, the owner was contacted shortly after who will take care of the care. All’s well that ends well!”

Fortunately, Stirba’s desperate act did not turn into a tragedy.
