Since the ladders are usually covered with a soft and comfortable fabric, they won’t be at risk of injury if they trip. That’s why a cat ladder can make all the difference in your old mustachioed friend’s life.

Owning a ladder makes Micio’s daily life easier and allows him to be more independent and to do things again that he couldn’t do before (get on the sofa, bed, car, etc.) and this can only improve his mood.

Where to place the ladder?

Your cat ladder can be placed wherever it is needed: in the kitchen, living room, bedroom… The important thing is to place it in a place that will make your cat’s life easier. For example, if Puss has always been used to dozing on the sofa or armchair, he places the ramp on one of these pieces of furniture in order to facilitate access.

There are also outdoor cat ladders that can be placed on the balcony or terrace. Does your cat like to rest in the sun on the garden table? Place the ladder at the entrance to the outer space so that his rheumatism doesn’t prevent him from continuing to explore this bucolic space.

Most cat ladders are lightweight and easy to move – you can even take the ladder with you if you go on vacation.

How to choose between the different cat stairs?

When choosing the ideal ladder for your cat, you should consider the material in which it is made, which must be both strong and light (such as wood, plastic or synthetic materials).

Also check the slope: the more difficult it is for the cat to move, the more moderate the slope should be! If Puss has too much difficulty climbing stairs, a small ramp may be for you.

Pay attention to the height of the steps. Depending on the pet’s disability, it may not be able to lift its paws high enough to climb stairs.

One of the most important criteria to consider is the presence of an anti-scuff carpet covering the stairway, as it will cushion any fall of the specimen. In addition, this type of carpet reduces the risk of slipping.

Finally, you should choose a cat ladder that has safety side rails. That way, your furball won’t fall out.

What are the different types of cat stairs?

There are various types of cat stairs on the market. Some are made of foam and are suitable for smaller specimens, while others are more resistant material and therefore intended for heavier specimens.

As a rule, they stand out soft, wooden stairs: the latter are usually made up of boards that must be screwed together, while the soft ones are often made of sponge and have removable covers.

There are stairs with two, three or even four steps. Some models are foldable and height adjustable, others are fixed. You can choose a ladder with non-slip feet (a real advantage on slippery floors such as parquet and tiles).
