Senior cats struggle to find adopters at the shelter. After the age of 7, tomcats are abandoned in favor of younger specimens. Yet they have love to spare! Sam, a man who wants to take in only those who need it most, offered for the second time to adopt a feline who was in danger of ending his days in a box.
Mahe is a 16 year old alley cat. She lived all her life with a caring mistress. Unfortunately, the latter was recently placed in an EHPAD, leaving Mahe homeless and ownerless.
She was therefore entrusted to the refuge of the Tilery located at Saint-Hilliers in Seine et Marne.
The volunteers feared that she would end her days in the box, but it was without counting on a charitable soul named Sam.
“I’ve always been sensitive to the animal cause, particularly to those that nobody wants and who don’t leave. I absolutely wanted to adopt the one who needed it the most.explained the young man to the 30 Million Friends Foundation.
An adoption under the best auspices
After only 3 weeks, the dean of the shelter met her benefactor who offered her a warm home for her old age. The members of the association were relieved to see her leave for new adventures so quickly.
His adaptation went very well. She met her fellow Gepettoa cat with a heavy past.
This 3-legged cat was indeed rescued in May 2021 during a large-scale rescue operation during which 110 felines were rescued from an unsanitary house in Savoy. The poor beasts lived amid the excrement and corpses of their fellows. Sam had then taken him in despite his handicap.
“Their first meeting went well: they observed each other quietly, both curious and distant. They are both very affectionate and constantly ask me for hugs.told Sam to the angels.

Mahe now enjoys its 2nd life to the fullest. The 2 acolytes spend their time sleeping long hours and watching the local residents from the secure balcony of their apartment. “Real little gossips”Sam added hilariously.
According to Sam, Mahe only half his age. She is very active and cheerful. “I simply gave her a course of dental care to relieve her. Now, this dean can crunch her life to the fullest,” he concluded.
