Fenrir entered the Guinness World Records!

There is a new record in the world of felines. Fenrir Antares Powersa two-year-old Savannah cat living with his family in Farmington Hills, Michigan (USA, was named the tallest living domestic cat in the world by the famous Guinness World Records.

Let’s get to know him better!

Fenrir, the tallest cat in the world

Owned by physician William John Powers who adopted him when he was 12 weeks old, Fenrir Antares Powers measured 47,82 cm on January 29, 2021. His record was published in the 2023 edition of Guinness World Records.

An “art” family

Fenrir is part of a family that holds other records:

  • The late brother Arcturus Aldebardan Powers he was Fenrir’s previous holder of the title in the Book of Records;
  • the other house cat, a Maine Coon named Altair Cygnus Powersholds the record for the longest tail on a domestic specimen still alive (40.83 cm);
  • The former cat of the US doctor, the late gray Maine Coon named Cygnus Regulus Powersit is instead the one that has had the longest tail ever (44.66 cm).

Fenrir likes delicacies, helps patients relax in the doctor’s office and is exemplary very affectionate.

Fenrir’s owner said he wants to use the title to raise money in order to help stray cats and Detroit kittens.

Savannah cats, miniature tigers

Savannah cats like Fenrir are crossbreeds between domestic cats and Servals, African wild cats with big ears.

These hybrid felines gained popularity in the 1990s and 2001 theInternational Cat Association officially accepted the Savannah breed.
