Adopt a German Shepherd that nobody wants, but doesn’t yet know that the dog will save his life

Sadie, a female German Shepherd, was a very shy and reserved dog, having difficulty interacting with humans. This resulted in her being rejected by three shelters until she came to the Animal Welfare Association of Ramapo-Bergen a Oakland, Californiain 2020.

The director of the institution Megan Brinster she said to CNN: «Our shelter is a last resort for unwanted dogs. We have been very successful in finding them a home.”

Finally a home for Sadie

Brinster wasn’t lying. The crew of him managed to find a home for Sadie. As soon as Brian Myers arrived at the shelter, it was immediately understood that he would be the new owner of the dog: they both got along very well.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, when loneliness is felt more than usual, Sadie and Myers have become great companions. One day, however, this idyll was interrupted.

A hero and 4 legs

On the night of January 18, Brian woke up to go to the bathroom, but his legs gave out and he fell to the ground.

“I was trapped in the narrow space between the bed and the wall, unable to reach my cell phone. I was laying on the floor wondering how long I would be stuck here before someone found me,” Brian said.

Sadie, realizing something was wrong with her human, she ran to him and became very anxious.

Myers, knowing the pup was prone to anxiety, began petting and comforting her. Then something extraordinary happened.

“I put my hand on her collar and she immediately started dragging me across the room where I could pick up the phone and call for help.”
