On Saturday, March 18, an Australian animal rescue organization leapt into action after learning that a German Shepherd puppy had been hit by a car in the city of Salisbury.
Scared and hurt, the dog had “refuged” between the railway tracks. Although the volunteers and passersby tried to capture it, the animal was on the defensive and shortly after a train headed towards him.

Fortunately, the train moved very slowly. It was slowing down as it approached the train station whenor the puppy ran onto the tracks.
Christine Robertson, director Of Lost Pets South Australia, he explained that the dog was trying to hide from his volunteers trying to capture him, and they were only able to reach him after he crawled under the train.
The German Shepherd is in good hands
The German Shepherd was initially believed to have suffered a spinal injury and a broken jaw due to his poor mobility and extensive blood loss, but upon medical examination, the puppy had only a few lacerations and abrasions on the paws.
The dog, unchipped and named Chugga after the sounds a train makes, is recovering from his injuries at a local animal hospital.
