Jason, the evicted American pit bull who is in urgent need of help

PiacenzaEmilia Romagna. Jason it was abandoned in November 2021 by its former owner following an eviction.

But the story of the 6-year-old American pit bull terrier doesn’t end there. The International Organization for the Protection of Animals (Oipa) is hoping for a good ending for the four-legged.

9 happy and carefree months

After the eviction, the dog was hosted by a person who made him smile again: with him he lived peaceful days of care, cuddles, long walks around the city. The two had got into the habit of lingering in a shopping center where Jason was well liked.

After 9 months of serenity and joy, the future adopter was no longer able to keep him definitively with him, due to serious health problems.

«Detachment from this person was a second dramatic abandonment for Jason. Anyone who knows this breed knows how strong there is in the bond these dogs create with their owner. It was very hard for him», says Paola Monga, coordinator of the Oipa zoophile guards of Piacenza and province.

Recovered by the Oipa volunteers of Piacenza

The OIPA guards in Piacenza took charge of the animal and brought it to the headquarters of one social cooperative of the city.

By chance, the place that hosts it was close to that shopping center. Thus, every time Jason is taken out of the box for a walk, he heads decisively in that direction in the hope of finding his old point of reference again and accepting the caresses of those who are fond of him.

«Those who know the dogs of this breed well – says Paola Monga -, and do not dwell on the aesthetic characteristics, know well what profound sweetness they are capable of. Exuberant, powerful, but with a rare sensitivity and fragility and a very strong attachment to one’s own humanity».

Jason, the evicted dog who always comes back to the mall looking for a home, family, love

JASON, THE EVICTED DOG WHO ALWAYS COMES BACK TO THE SHOPPING CENTER LOOKING FOR HOME, FAMILY, LOVE Abandoned by his former owner following an eviction, Jason, a 6-year-old American pit bull terrier, had been able to enjoy serenity for just nine months, when he had been hosted by a person who was no longer able to adopt him due to serious health problems. In this period they had taken to lingering in a shopping center where Jason had made many friends, from the bartender who handed him a piece of pizza, to the cashier of the supermarket, to the patrons who dispensed caresses. The detachment from this person was a second dramatic abandonment for Jason, who now lives in a garage. In order not to leave him alone, the guards of the OIPA of Piacenza take turns for a few walks and each time Jason heads decisively towards the shopping center, hoping to find his old point of reference, in the place that for him means home, family, love. It is tender to see him wandering around with a hopeful attitude, always ready to accept the caresses of passers-by. It would be the best of gifts to find someone for him, the right one, the one who will stay with him forever. Jason is neutered, sociable with other dogs but not very interested in interacting with his kind. His interest is only in those who walk beside him, in those who want to dedicate time and affection to him. He is looking for an exclusive bond and for this reason the OIPA guards of Piacenza prefer to entrust him to those who don’t have other dogs and are not at their first experience.
