Intrigued by the unusual behavior of her cat, a woman was awakened early in the morning by the latter, who was actually trying to alert her. She didn’t know it yet, but he had just saved her life.

Early in the morning of Monday August 8, she was roused from her sleep at around 4.30am by the 7-year-old British Shorthair. The feline was slapping his paws on his chest and meowing very loudly directly into his ear. An attitude that Billy had never displayed before, he who is of a very calm and rather distant nature.

That’s when she realized she couldn’t move and felt a sharp pain in her right side. Sam Felstead didn’t know it at the time, but she was in the throes of a heart attack. Her cat sensed that something serious was happening and was trying to make her mistress understand.

The 40-year-old called her mother Karen help. They contacted the emergency services, but there was no ambulance available until 2 am. They then decided to go to the hospital.

After examination, the doctors explained to them that Sam Felstead had a “mild” form of attack and that if she had been taken care of later, the consequences would have been much more serious. The alert of Billy was therefore decisive and life-saving.

“If I had gotten up without him, it could have been worse”

His owner had a clogged artery. She says that the day before, she hadn’t felt anything in particular; no pain or even discomfort. She had walked her dogs and gone to bed as normally as possible.
