Train hits a cat “so as not to be late”: drama at the station

Georgia e Melaïana i’m still in shock. The January 2ndmother and daughter witnessed the death of their 2 year old cat, Neko.

The animal was hit by a high-speed train (TGV) when, jumping out of the carrier of the owners, stressed by the situation, he took refuge under the train at the station of Paris Montparnasse.

The train doesn’t stop

According to the two women, the agents of the French railway company (SNCF) present voluntarily decided not to rescue the animal for do not cause a delay to the train. For 20 minutes the cat’s owners tried to get the four paws out and talk to the driver, but the staff he refused to help. And so the train leaves, without ifs and buts.

This story has caused a real controversy on social networks. There Brigitte Bardot Foundationwho decided to file a complaint, criticized the railway company:

“It is surprising that the SNCF does not join in improving animal welfare.”

The railway company regrets what happened

For its part, the company said it “regrets this sad incident” and added:

“Know that SNCF cares about the animal cause and the safety of pets traveling by train and that this is in no case a situation that leaves us indifferent”.

But of course this incident leaves the whole world in shock; one wonders if this cruel drama could not have been avoided. Meanwhile, two owners had to say goodbye to their faithful pet.
