As the old saying goes: “If you love something, you should be ready to let it go.” And that’s exactly what one child did to save his beloved dog from a life of abuse.
Here is the sad story that happened in Mexico almost three years ago.
A heartbreaking decision
The 12-year-old was too young to protect his dog from his father, who beat him regularly and threatened to sell it.
Then he reluctantly leaves his beloved little dog at the shelter Holly from Mexico City with the hope that the puppy can have a better life.
Together with the poor dog, the child puts one away letter in which he explains the situation:
“My name is Andrés and I am 12 years old. My mom and I have decided to entrust the dog to you without my dad’s knowledge. He wanted to sell it, beat him and kicked him. Once he kicked him so hard it really hurt his tail ».
And he concludes:
“I hope you take care of it. I left him a puppet so he’ll never forget me. ‘
A happy ending for René
The volunteers of the shelter will first of all take care of your health:
The kennel staff named the puppy René and shared his story on social media. Within days, René had hundreds of adoption requests and many have offered to help the kennel with donations.
Happy to have received so many requests, the volunteers are keen to point out, however, that there are still many dogs in the kennel waiting to be adopted.
To date, René he hasn’t found his family yet For all life. But she is happy in his shelter, surrounded by the other dogs.
We really hope that Rene will soon start living the perfect life, and all thanks to a tender and sensitive child who valued his dog’s happiness more than his own!
