One family brought their own 13 year old dog and tripod to the veterinary clinic because she was worried about a large lump in her belly.

When the vet x-rayed her: looking at her his jaw dropped.

Unexpected diagnosis

The clinic explains on its Facebook page that “the 13-year-old dog had a significant mass in the abdominal area, which appeared the night before”.

The X-rays of her tummy soon revealed the mystery: the hairy was pregnantfor the first time in his life!

The owners were very surprised, as they thought her missing a hind leg would have made it practically impossible to pair. Of course it is a vision that has no counterpart in nature.

The dog was referred to a specialized clinic where she was examined and followed up until delivery. Despite her advanced age, the furry gave birth to a puppy. Everything has gone well and mum and baby are fine.
