This amazing story comes fromWest Africaprecisely in the State of Liberia, and dates back to November 2016.
While strolling the streets of a remote village, Jenny Desmond, who runs a chimpanzee sanctuary in Charlesville, retrieves a stray dog lying on the side of the road.
A dog among chimpanzees
Called Snafuthe puppy is dying. Unable to find a nearby veterinary hospital, animal activists are forced to return him to the chimpanzee sanctuary.
I vets of the sanctuary immediately provide for the care necessary for its survival. Little Snafu suffers from infectious diseases and nutritional deficiencies, making him very fragile and life threatening.
unexpectedly, the chimpanzees are excited about the arrival of the baby. The pack of primates participate in the care of Snafu, giving him lots of love and comfort during the treatment. The puppy is practically looked after by the loving chimpanzees and appears very happy about this.
Care and love take effect on little Snufi, who is on the path to recovery and grows healthy and strong.
In addition, Snafu fits very well into the sanctuary environment: he and the chimpanzees seem like an inseparable family. Primates often help Snafu move to ease the discomfort of his injuries, by picking him up and helping him down the stairs.
Snafu a year later
A few months later, Snafu was completely healthy and beautiful. He has been adopted by Jenny’s sister and his family who live in Coloradoin the United States of America.
Before long, Snafu and his new family become inseparable and we are sure that the dog will never forget the precious time spent with the chimpanzees in the reserve in Liberia.
Seeing the loving care these gorgeous little chimpanzees have given to the little dog demonstrates how beautiful and amazing our animal friends are.
