Flood in the Marche: the “Angels of the mud” at work

Right from the start the “Mud Angels“are strenuously trying to save the animals that have been victims of the flood that hit the Marche.

The shelters affected by the flood

What worries the most are the animals housed in shelters, structures that are now completely destroyed and flooded.

Several associations have decided to offer their contribution to save the animals affected by the flood.

Volunteers from the Lav (Anti-Vivisection League) of Ancona are helping facilities for dogs and cats, in particular the Association’s shelter Hairy Hearts Odv of Senigallia.

The images speak for themselves: a completely grounded and destroyed structure.

The observations of Luana Bedetti, coordinator of Oipa Ancona

The shelter Hairy Hearts of Senigallia, which rises in the flood zone, was evacuated but two cats lost their lives.

“Several dogs have died in the boxes, and, if tied up, in the grounds and gardens. We will never stop remembering that when there are weather warnings, animals must be moved from danger zones and made safe. Even cats let loose on these tragic occasions can look for places to hide and remain locked or stuck there, ”he observes Luana Bedettiregional coordinator of the Oipa zoophile guards of Ancona and its province.

“We hope that the Municipality of Senigallia will set up a new structure in a suitable place, since having a structure of that kind next to the river is already madness, but not having found a solution in almost 10 years to be able to secure the animals and thus avoid them. death, as happened in 2014, is unacceptable. There is so much to build and rebuild to help and we ask everyone to give us a hand ”, concludes Bedetti.
