Pond, Collesalvetti (Livorno). A dog goes missing several days ago. When all hope of finding had been lost, the turning point came.
Here is the story of this elderly dog with a great desire to live.
The finding of Diana
On the evening of Wednesday 14 September, Diana is fortunately found by the local firefighters, several days after her disappearance from home.
The 14-year-old Springer Spaniel dog was trapped in a drain pipe of concrete 5 meters long.
The rescue intervention
The firefighters of the headquarters in Livorno and that of the Crocino volunteers have taken steps to extract the animal. The operation required a lot of caution, especially in the final phase.
Luckily, the terrified old dog was rescued and is now in good condition.

The Firefighters save “Diana” The Livorno Fire Brigade intervened yesterday evening, at about 9pm, in Stagno (via Aiaccia) to rescue “Diana” (14 years old) a female of the spring breed spaniel that was stuck inside a concrete drain pipe of about 5 meters in length. Missing for several days, all hope had now been lost. As soon as Diana was identified, the brigade intervened on the spot together with the Crocino volunteers. Difficult and delicate operation, as the pictures show.
