They are therefore not perceptible to the human ear. However, animals such as rodents, mice and rats, cats and foxes can hear them very well.

The human ear perceives sounds between 20 and 20,000 hertz. Cats can hear sounds of up to 60,000 hertz. In general, the ultrasounds emitted by these pest control devices reach up to 25,000 hertz.

It is also painless for their eardrums. That is why these devices are considered non-harmful and non-chemical repellents.

Be careful though, as some young children and older people can be sensitive to ultrasounds and this can cause them headaches.

How to maintain an ultrasonic repellent?

To keep your ultrasonic repellent functioning properly, regular maintenance is recommended.

They are outdoor devices, programmed and designed to withstand bad weather, wind, rain and cold. So they usually don’t require a lot of maintenance.

Wipe the appliance with a damp sponge about once a month to remove dust and dirt accumulated over time. The most important thing is to clean the motion sensor well.

If the sensor no longer works because it is covered in dust, the repellent is useless!

Make sure from time to time that the batteries are sufficiently charged.
