Need to speak with a Vet Doctor?

she creates an AI system to control her comings and goings in the litter box

Cats sometimes have behaviors that are difficult for us to understand. This was the case of Estefannie, a YouTuber engineer. Her beloved cat regularly eats plastic objects and has therefore ended up at the vet many times. Now, she can make sure he takes care of himself thanks to her innovation.

Estefanniean engineer known for her inventions that she shares with her community on YouTubehas 2 alley cats, Luna et Teddy.

The latter has the annoying habit of playing with small plastic objects and then swallowing them. The animal has therefore had health problems in the past: fever and intestines obstructed by the foreign body.

Fortunately, each time, he was able to be saved in time thanks to surgery performed by his veterinarian.

Nevertheless, his caring mistress wanted to create a system to check if he is going to relieve himself in the litter box. For this, she used the technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

2 years of programming

To carry out his project, Estefannie is equipped with an infrared camera, numerous sensors as well as a Raspberry Pi (computer reduced to its simplest use).

She took no less than 50,000 pictures of her cats in the litter box in order to generate a database capable of differentiating who goes there.

Indeed, the software, thanks to the sensors, recognizes if it is Luna or of Teddy then saves the information on a server.

Likewise, the program is able to identify if the tomcat has urinated and/or defecated.

Thus, thanks to Artificial Intelligence, when Teddy rarely goes to his cat toilet or only pees there, Estefannie knows immediately that he has swallowed another object and that his digestive tract is blocked.

She can therefore anticipate care before the state of health of the tomcat deteriorates, reports Netcost.

The young woman can also gather information about the digestion habits of felines that will allow science to study them.
