In India, a multi-kilogram tumor was removed from a senior dog after a brief but complex operation, reports The Indian Express.

Milo, a 12-year-old Labrador Retriever, had a dramatic lump between the chest and the shoulder. Because of this fortunately benign tumour, he was no longer able to walk.

According to its owner Sushma BajwaWho lives Pune in the west of the country, it was quite small for the last 3 years and caused no problem for the animal. Last year, a biopsy confirmed that it was not cancerous and that it was a lipoma (ball of fat). However, she had recently started to gain volume, until she exceeded 3 kilograms and reached ” the size of a soccer ball said his mistress.

« We were tense and worried “, she confides. The family then contacted the Dr. Narendra Pardeshi. The veterinary surgeon quickly decided to operate on him.

Successful operation !

The operation took place on August 22. The specialist used a technique that was both delicate and minimally invasive, which enabled him to extract the tumor in about twenty minutes. 6 hours later, Milo could walk normally again. He returned home the same day.
