now the Pitbull needs help

Nala is a beautiful Pitbull of 2 years who lives with his family a Palermo. A family that has always given her a lot of love since she was adopted a few months ago.

Unfortunately, however, loving also means letting go when life no longer allows you to give the other everything he deserves. And Nala now searches a new familysomeone willing to give her all the love and attention a dog like her needs. No, this is not a story of abandonment, but a story of love, courage and sacrificewhich can only make us shed a tear.

Valentina, Paolo and Nala: a happy family

Valentina and Paolo are a happy couple from Palermo. The two, who have always been united by their love for animals, decide to take a puppy in adoption is in the September 2019 have love at first sight seeing a photo of Nala, a little over two months old Pitbull puppy, naughty and tireless. Their threesome life is idyllic:

«The first year was wonderful, we were always together, we took her with us everywhere, even to the restaurant!», Valentina tells Todocat’s microphones.

In 2020 comes some good news to complete their happy family: Valentina is pregnant! Husband and wife are joyfully preparing for life at 4, but in November 2020 everything falls apart: during the sixth month of his wife’s pregnancy, Paolo discovers he has stage 4 adenoid cystic carcinoma with lung metastases.

The beginning of hell

Due to his state of health and constant medical examinations and operations, Paolo had to stop working. The first operation was in January 2021:

«After that discovery, we could no longer face all that a pet requires: having an animal is like having a child, it requires care, attention … We have been helped by our families, but we don’t live in gold. We have reached the point that everyone puts a little money to buy treats for Nala », continues Valentina.

A situation that is no longer sustainable, especially for the dog, who has always been used to going out and playing and who now finds herself almost always alone.

“As far as they can, my in-laws currently look after them, but they are elderly people who have their own suffering and physical problems. They did everything they could ».

In the last year Paolo has undergone another surgery, but his health conditions are still unstable: the nodules have recurred and every three months the couple goes to northern Italy for all medical checks.

A house for Nala

Now, reluctantly, Valentina and Paolo have decided that for the love of Nala, they must let her go, they must give her her freedom that will allow her to find a family that loves her and can take care of her every day as she deserves.

In Nala it won’t go with the first one that happens: the couple needs someone who really loves them and who knows what you are getting into when you have a Pitbull, a playful dog that never gets tired and that needs a lot of dedication and education to avoid unpleasant situations.

Valentina and Paolo have already tried to find someone for her, but finding a good adopter in their area is not at all easy: that’s why now they are aimed at all over Italy with the hope that there is someone willing to give Nala the life she deserves and that, unfortunately, thanks to this evil that takes away all the time and money, they can no longer give her.

But one thing is certain, Valentina and Paolo have fought and are still fighting, and not just against cancer: the couple has always kept in mind how much Nala is an integral part of their family and was not abandoned at the first obstacle. The two continue to fight for her and for her happiness, despite everything, despite all the adversities. Theirs is an example that applies to everyone: there is always an alternative to abandonment!
