Need to speak with a Vet Doctor?

“no doubt they were abandoned”

Drop-outs are increasing with the rising cost of living. But this one is still atypical. The offenders climbed the mountain and left 2 puppies for dead in a depopulated area. Fortunately, hikers have passed this path in time.

2 walkers strolled on the mountain Llanwonno at Rhondda Cynon Taff au Wales when they saw 2 small black animals.

As they approached, they discovered that they were 2 female Patterdale Terrier puppies a few months old.

The unfortunates were in a lamentable state. They were starving and infested with fleas and worms, so their abdomens were very swollen. Also, their coat was matted and full of dirt.

The Good Samaritans carried the babies down the trail and contacted the organization Hope Rescuesituated at Llanharanwho took care of them.

Volunteers baptized the little ones Bertie et Greta and drove them to the veterinary clinic where they received emergency care.

“These are the latest victims of a growing epidemic of ‘false strays’ which is characterized by owners who deliberately dump their pets rather than seek help from a shelter”explained a spokesperson to Wales Online.

It is indeed impossible that Bertie et Greta found themselves in this area by chance.

A call for donations to meet their needs

The little ladies were cared for by a dedicated foster home. It would indeed have been complicated for them to support life in the box because of their young age.

In addition, it would have seriously compromised their socialization and their learning as a family dog.

“They will be able to receive the care and attention they so desperately need. We are currently facing an animal welfare crisis, but as always, our team will pull out all the stops and continue to ensure that animals receive the best care, whatever the cost”the shelter said on its Facebook profile during the August 29, 2022 request for help.

To date, nearly 700 euros have been collected.
