Animals give us so much joy: they make us laugh with their pranks, they cheer us up with their tenderness, they cheer us up after a difficult day by staying close to us.

But seeing a dog perpetually sad is something that breaks anyone’s heart. Here is the story of the Pitbull Handsome.

Guapo, the always sad dog

Unfortunately, for some animals it is not obvious to be happy. This is especially true when it comes to a abused or abandoned dog.

The sight of a sad animal is heartbreaking – no wonder the staff at theOrange County Animal Shelter of Orlando, Florida (USA), wanted to do everything possible to restore the smile to the Pitbull Guapo. They understood that it was absolutely necessary find him a home forever and get it out of there.

As soon as the video of the sad dog was posted on Facebook, the shelter’s phones started ringing. Many people came to visit him and, fortunately, a family decided to adopt him!

How to turn sadness into joy in just 20 minutes?

Upon arriving at his new home, Guapo was unable to immediately put aside his sadness. It took him twenty long minutes just to make up his own mind go out in the garden.

But a rush out there caused the knot of melancholy within him to melt and his emotions to completely change.

Adopting an animal is forever

The refuge used the story of rosco (as Guapo was renamed) to remind everyone who adopts a dog that they are gods responsible bosses. Adopting an animal is a lifelong commitment! We must never forget it!

The shelter volunteers say from their daily experience with animals in distress:

“We see the effects of abandonment reflected in every sad face. We see the broken hearts of these animals. None of them know what he’s done wrong. None of them understand why he is here. All they know is that one moment they were happy and safe and the next they are in a strange and scary place. They miss their owners. They miss their homes ”.

How to blame them?
