Found very thin and sick, Athena won her battle and the transformation is unique (Video)

Unfortunately still in 2023 there are people who enjoy ad abandon the animals and to ignore them when their paths cross, despite their dire condition.

Fortunately, however, there are also those who do not remain indifferent and, together with the work of volunteers from shelters throughout Italy, contribute to give a second chance to our four-legged friends.

The story of Athena

In November 2022, the Etna Animal Refuge (CT) receives an alert: a dog in very bad condition wanders aimlessly through the streets of a small town in the Catania area.

The poor little dog was very thin: she weighed only 9 chiliwhen in reality a dog his size should weigh at least 18. He had the compromised liver and had tested positive for erlichia.

Her human aunts immediately took care of her: they fed her, washed her, cared for her and made sure, little by little, that the four paws regained the will to live, despite the his fragile initial health. The goal of her volunteers was one: to ensure that Athena, this is the name given to her puppy, could find a family willing to love her for the rest of her life.

The transformation

Thanks to free donations and the help of good souls, Athena really started behaving like a real fighter, in honor of her name: in just one month has recovered 4 kilos and, finally, on December 15th he manages to go out for the first time on his paws, demonstrating all his will to live.

Athena made it: the little fighter has conquered all evils and is ready to be given up for adoption!

And finally the long-awaited news arrives on February 19th: Athena has found a home! On Saturday, March 4, the warrior left to reach mother Luciana in Vicenza and start his new life in the family.

The transformation of the little girl in just a few months was unique. Look at how beautiful Athena is in this photo. And her credit goes to her willpower, but also (and especially) to the volunteers of the Etneo Refuge, Aunt Chicca and the various donors, who allowed her to rediscover all her splendor.
