Faithful to the last, Golden pays a touching tribute to Margo Magan

On a sunny day at the beginning of the year, Tamara Gervasoni took a very touching photo at her grandmother’s funeral Margo Magan.

Famous swimmer Margo Magan – who according to one of her twelve children was a first cousin of Samuel Beckett – passed away on December 30, in a hospital in Mullingar, Ireland, at the ripe old age of 94.

The funeral mass was held in Killashee, where the old woman lived and where she was later buried.

Faithful to the end

His granddaughter Tamara took the photo on the way from the church to the cemetery: we can see the hearse carrying Margo.

Behind, he walks sadly Bessie, the woman’s beloved Golden Retriever. The four-legged seems aware of the loss of her dear human, and looks grieved, making her a last touching tribute.

Margo’s son Mike paid tribute to her on Twitter, posting the touching image. He has written:

«We definitively said goodbye to our extraordinary mother Margo at 94 years old. She loved her dog. She is the mother of 12 children. She champion swimmer, many title/record holder, great golfer, first female president of a golf club in Ireland. She is active until recently having swum on Christmas day 3 years ago. Legend”.

Further proof that dogs are truly man’s true friends, not abandoning us in difficult moments and remaining faithful to the end.
