Before choosing, the ideal is to ask your veterinarian for advice who, based on the length of Fido’s hair, his size and the thickness of his undercut, will be able to advise whether or not the dog needs to cover up.
In principle, the choice of clothing for dogs should be reduced to waterproof dog coats for when it rains, even if it is a robust breed, so that Fido is well protected (in particular, it is good to keep his ears covered to prevent them from getting wet and causing problems such as otitis) and better small with less thick subcutis and shorter hair.

DIY dog sweaters
If instead of looking for dog clothing in boutiques or on the internet we prefer to offer our faithful friend a gift homemade we can make some cute dog sweaters. How? Is simple! If whipping is not our strong suit, we can use old clothes: old trousers or an old sweater can be an excellent work base.
Once took the measures of Fido’s body (the length up to just before the beginning of the tail and the circumference of the bust to make sure that the sleeve is not tight) just take these measurements on the sleeve of the old sweater (or on the leg of the trousers) in order to be able to cut to the height right.
Once the cut has been made, just make two holes at the height of the dog’s front legs, put the sweater obtained on Fido, adjust the width of the head if necessary and you’re done!
The same goes for the trouser leg. Once cut to the right height, depending on the length of the dog, just take the measurements for the holes where the paws will go and the sweater, or sweatshirt, is ready.
