Normally, the customs control of passengers arriving from abroad is standard procedure.
However, at Memmingerberg Airport in Bavaria, customs officials were in for a big surprise.
Give it little girl’s backpack they suddenly heard strange noises.
The customs officers hear strange noises
The 5-year-old girl landed at the German airport with her family from Amman (Jordan). When the officer opened the backpack and put his hand in it, she immediately felt something soft and fluffy. But this wasn’t a stuffed animal…
To their amazement, the staff discovered a kitten in the little girl’s backpack. Apparently, little she couldn’t bear to leave her adorable three-month-old kitty at home, so she took him along.
Although this four-legged “stowaway” is extremely cute, travelers are not allowed to bring pets into the country – doing so is considered a crime which can lead to a significant fine.
Cat in quarantine
The family had no choice but to leave the kitten, who had recently been vaccinated in Jordan, at an animal shelter. The pet will be kept in quarantine until the vaccinations take full effect.
The family will then be able to pick him up before returning home and, of course, pay all the costs for accommodation and quarantine.
