Mabel, a ginger tabby alley cat had a narrow escape. Wednesday August 17, 2022, she received a lead in the middle of her pretty face because of a malicious individual. Today in the healing phase, she remains traumatized by the experience. His furious master filed a complaint. An investigation is underway.

Andrew Fotheringham is the proud owner of Mabel, his beloved cat, as well as a young Jack Russel. The little family lives in the usually quiet town of Springfieldclose to Cupar in Scotland.
The 59-year-old railway worker has a habit of leaving Mabel go out at will in the town. “She’s such a friendly kitty that everyone in the village knows her. The school is just down the street so all the kids enjoy it too. She just sits in the garden or goes to the field across the road”he explained to Daily Record.
Wednesday August 17, 2022, Mabel came home after dark and went to bed. It’s only the next morning thatAndrew realized that she was seriously injured in the face.
“At first I thought she had just had a fight, but she wouldn’t let me near her. Then I saw the lead lodged in his mouth. It was just awful”said Andrew.
Emergency at the vet
Andrew did not wait another second to take his faithful 4-legged companion to the animal doctor Eden Veterinary Practice at Cupar. Which was surprised that she was still alive.
X-ray revealed that the bullet had been stopped by the canine of Mabel. His tooth was broken and the projectile was lodged in his gum.
Mabel therefore underwent surgery lasting several hours to extract the foreign body and suture the wound.
Today, Mabel went home and regained her strength.

It is obvious that this is a deliberate act of animal abuse carried out with an illegal weapon. “It’s such a perverted behavior. Everyone in the village is angry. I hope the police find the culprit.”blamed Andrew who filed a complaint on August 18.
An investigation is therefore underway to determine who is at the origin of the facts. “If anyone has a BB gun around here, with a school nearby, I’m really worried. I have a Jack Russell puppy, but I’m afraid to let him out now”lamented Andrew.
