Staff at a wildlife center received a call saying a six week old kitten he had been found abandoned by his mother.

And while the pup looked healthy, it was sorely solo.

Unusual new arrival

The wildlife center has asked a shelter that specializes in rescuing and rehabilitating feral cats to provide initial care for the animal.

Once the feline arrived at the shelter, staff knew exactly which of its residents it would be ideal for take care of the newcomer.

Devoted foster mom

A ginger cat named Honeybun it was already one experienced foster mom that she had taken care of several litters that were not hers. The only difference on this occasion was that the kitten was not a house cat, but a wild kitten.

But raising a feral kitten certainly didn’t put Honeybun on edge. He immediately took the kitten under his paw and gave him all the love and patience he needed.

Free soon

Since Honeybun is a domesticated cat, she cannot teach the bobcat the essential skills it will need to survive in the wild, so she will only care for it for a short time.

The kitten will eventually be placed with another bobcat at the wildlife center to help her reach her full potential before finally being released in freedom in spring.

Scary vicious bobcat caught eating a housecat on camera Jk, all this baby wants to do is play with Honey’s big ol ears. Some FAQ from our post yesterday on their relationship: •Will they be together forever? No, Honeybun is going to make an awesome pet for someone someday. The bobkitten will hopefully join an older bobkitten already at the rehab in the coming weeks, she’s just too tiny right now. •Is Honey in danger? Nope! The bobkitten is only a few weeks old. Though she is similar in size to Honey, her mentality is very very juvenile and all she wants to do is snuggle and play. Regardless they are still very closely monitored. Also bobcats don’t even really prey on domestic cats unless they are desperate. •Are they at your house/do you get to snuggle the wild baby? No and NOPE. Bobcats are illegal to keep in most states (probably all but idk). They are also wild animals and make horrible pets – lets not forget what happened with Travis the chimp 😅 Both are currently with the properly licensed rehabber. There’s no human/bobkitten cuddling going on, the goal is for her be wary of humans so she can be safe as an adult in the wild. •Is Honey miserable? No, that’s just her face I think that’s most of em but I’ll answer whatever else I can in the comments! . #SpicyHoneybun #bobcat #bobkitten #TNR #itshiptobetipped #balllessandflawless #fosteringsaveslives #goodbyeisthegoal #fosterkitten #cutekitten #tinybutmighty

A very sweet story that proves that animals don’t discriminate.
