The animal rights association in Rome The Verano Cats – Animal Welfare Odv posted a heartbreaking announcement regarding an errant cat.
Found by an animal lover, the cat fought with all his might for life. Unfortunately, however, this was not enough.
Here is his story.
The rescue
Brunella Ceriolo loves taking care of stray animals that cross her path. Among them, an adorable black and white cat in very bad condition.
«I found Pirulino in a town in the province of Rome. He had been for I don’t know how long in the clearing of a street where no one helped him despite the fact that he was a very sweet cat who approached anyone who passed by crying », explains Brunella on Facebook.
The visit to the vet
Without hesitating and seeing his serious state of health, Brunella takes him to the vet. The woman says that Pirulino «has been delighted from getting into a carrier and continued to purr non-stop during the visit to the vet.
Unfortunately, the oncologist diagnosed him with sarcomawhich spread throughout his body, and also tested positive for FeLV.
To avoid infecting the other cats in the shelter, Pirulino is isolated in a small room, but cries desperately trying to be cuddled and held.
Despite this, the cat eats heartily and uses the litter box. Subjected to a therapy to block the advance of the tumor, it was already known that in Pirulino he didn’t have much time left to live.
Brunella’s appeal
This is why Brunella has launched an appeal in which she asks some good soul to welcome Pirulino into her home in order to give him love for her last days.
“I wish he’d find a home where he could spend his remaining time with someone who would give him the affection he’s been looking for for so long. Therapies and maintenance are at my own expense. Thank you, Brunella », the volunteer concluded hopefully.
Pirulino unfortunately can’t do it. Volunteers from The Verano Cats they thank all those who have tried to help him saying that they are sure that Pirulino felt their affection in his last moments of life.
