The associations deplore numerous cases of acts of mistreatment. Annie, as she was renamed, experienced the unthinkable before being rescued by a Good Samaritan. She is now fighting against her injuries and slowly regaining her confidence. An investigation is underway to find the perpetrators.

Friday August 19, 2022, an individual who was driving on the road leading to Norwoodin the State of Massachusetts to United Statescame face to face with an animal in bad shape.
He immediately stopped his vehicle to help her.
It is the veterinary center and refuge Animal Rescue League de Boston (ARL) who took her in after being contacted by the local police.
“Annie’s 2nd degree burns cover her head, neck, shoulders, forelimbs and abdomen. The priority of the medical team at the ARL shelter has been to help him manage his pain and treat his injuries”explained the organization to Boston.com.
The unfortunate had suffered an act of cruelty before being cowardly abandoned in the ditch.
A long road to recovery
Given the severity of his injuries, Annie was transferred for a time to a specialized centre, the Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment & Specialties.
She remained there in intensive care 24 hours a day for several days to relieve the severe pain caused by the burns.
“Annie has returned to ARL’s care but has a long road, possibly months, of recovery ahead of her. We are doing our best to provide her with all the affection and treatment that will put her back on her feet.”said a volunteer of the association.

Annie had no means of identification (tattoo or microchip), but was wearing a collar and leash at the time of his discovery.
A complaint was filed for acts of cruelty. The police are therefore conducting a full investigation to find the perpetrators of this heinous act.
Anyone in a position to provide information is asked to come forward.
