The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that devastated Turkey and Syria claimed the lives of over 50,000 people, not to mention the countless missing.
Among these, even dogs, cats and other animals, for some of which we have been able to witness wonderful rescues, even several days after the terrible earthquake.
The Husky extracted alive from the rubble after 22 days
22 days after the earthquake, a Husky dog named Alex was extracted alive in Hatay Province, Turkey.
Some volunteers from the association rescued him Haytap – Animal Rights Federation in Turkey. The four-legged had been stuck for more than 3 weeks under a building that collapsed on February 6th.
The video of Alex’s rescue
In the video posted on the association’s Facebook page, two volunteers can be seen who they dig with their bare hands among the rubble until they reached the point where they heard the cries of the poor animal.
Fortunately, the big dog was alive if visibly emaciated. Once pulled out, Alex was showered with kisses and cuddles, before being refreshed with water and food.
Subsequently, Alex was taken to a veterinary clinic to be examined.
It’s a miracle the dog survived all those days alone under the rubble. Although according to some local sources his health conditions are surprisingly good, we still hope that he will be able to fully recover as soon as possible.
