Agile and fast dogs: that’s what they are

What is meant by agile and fast dogs? Trying to make a comparison with the man, the best performance ever achieved was that of 44.73 km per hour: this man is Usain Boltthe Olympic athlete who broke the speed record in 2009.

It corresponds to the slowest speed you will find in this list of agile and fast dogs: let’s find out who they are and what their character is!

Agile and fast dogs

Agility and speed are characteristics that in an apartment dog today we mostly try to keep at bay for practical reasons. Yet these characteristics were once fundamental in the working dogs and they still are now.

It is no coincidence that today the most agile and fast dogs mostly belong to breeds selected for guarding the flock, for hunting, for running.

What is the most agile and fastest dog in the world?

A perfect compromise between agility and speed, but also the dog considered among the most intelligent in the world: with its 48.28 km / h, it is the Border Collie. The working dog par excellence has numerous firsts also in theAgility Doghis sport of choice.

These dogs need constant mental and physical stimulation: this is the only way to feel satisfied. Think how much self-control they must have to graze and keep entire flocks of sheep under control!

Why get a fast and agile dog?

These specimens are extremely energetic because this is written in their DNA: they have greater needs than other breeds in terms of physical activity and therefore are perfect for sports people, who take long walks or who can carve out frequent moments to spend outdoors.

The list of the fastest dogs

Here is a list of the most agile and fastest dogs, in descending order of speed, based on the breed characteristics established by theAmerican Kennel Club.

English Greyhound

In the first place in the list of fast dogs the English Greyhound reigns supreme, which is able to run at the speed of 72 km/hfollowed only by its cousins: the Spanish Greyhound (69 km / h), Persian (67 km / h) and Afghan (64 km / h).
