This Saturday December 10th it’s a special day for animal lovers. In fact, today it is celebrated all over the world Animal rights day.

Although October 4 is World Animal Day, animal rights activists have decided to organize an International Animal Rights Day on December 10, which coincides with the International human rights day.

Why an international day for animal rights?

The objective of this day celebrated every year on the anniversary of the ratification of the Declaration of Human Rights is to remember, raise awareness and defend the rights of wild, domestic and livestock animals too often violated.

A way therefore to make us aware that all living beings have rights and that they deserve to be respected.

What to do on this World Animal Rights Day?

Essential it is report cases where animal rights are violated. We must increasingly say no to animal abuse. But that’s not the only thing you can do.

1. Adopt responsibly

Also, if you don’t have a dog or cat yet, why not consider adopting a pet?

If you want to try your hand at this wonderful adventure, preferably go to a shelter: many animals are waiting for a new home!

2. Spend more time with your pet

Since World Animal Day is also Pet Day, why not spend it with your canine or feline friend? Take your dog to the park, play with your cat, take your rabbit or hamster out of his cage to have fun with him…

Being in the middle of the Christmas period, you can also give your dog or cat a gift!

3. Make a donation

If you want to support the animal cause, you can also donate to an association. Find a cause you care about and find out about animal rights charities – they always need donors.
