Need to speak with a Vet Doctor?

2 inseparable elderly cats are placed in a shelter and face this life change together while waiting for adopters

Angus and Milo have always lived together. When they were 10 years old, they suffered a severe ordeal. Their sick mistress could no longer provide for them and abandoned them. If the beginnings were complicated, they were able to support each other and regain the upper hand.

Sarah Sylvester is a volunteer host family for the association Nashville Cat Rescue who works daily for felines in need in the State of Tennessee to United States.

Few months ago, Angus et Milo, 2 alley cats aged 10, were entrusted to them. Unfortunately, their owner could no longer take care of them due to serious health problems.

The 2 tomcats did not support this change of life very well. They had always lived in the same house, which made the adjustment difficult.

“I put the boys up in my guest room, dropped off some food and water and left them alone for the evening so they could decompress. “, has explained Sarah at Love Meow.

Care and patience

During the first 2 weeks, Angus et Milo remained shy and distant. They took refuge in the closet in the room and only came out there to feed and use the litter box.

By observation, Sarah realized that Milo had a greasy coat, dull eyes and drank excessively. She therefore took him to the veterinarian who confirmed his fears: he had feline diabetes.

The tomcat therefore receives a daily treatment injected after a blood sugar test. “He is very brave and feels much better,” added Sarah.

His brand new physical condition has helped him thrive in his foster home. Angus naturally followed the enthusiasm of his sidekick.

“Now they love being in the room I’m in. They each snuggle on one side of my legs”confided the good Samaritan delighted to see them finally happy.

It’s been 6 months since the 2 inseparable cats entered their foster home. They are now very talkative and in great shape. Sarah would therefore like them to find their adopters and leave together for new adventures.

“It was an honor to walk alongside them on their journey and I look forward to meeting the person who will give them a 2nd chance”said Sarah.
