It’s almost over now one year since the outbreak of conflict in Ukraine. Many people have died, others have fled, others have remained, but have now lost everything.
Among the victims of this war there are also the most defenseless, such as children and animals. Reading stories like the one we’re about to tell you today brings a tear to your face.
Where are you Masik
Veronika Krasevych ha 11 years old and lives in Borodyanka, in northern Ukraine, a town that once had about 12,000 inhabitants. Once. When the bombings had not yet razed buildings and lives.
The little one, like many other children, had to go and live in a basement but, despite everything she was going through, there was only him in her mind, Anotheril house cat which he had lost to the war.
As soon as the bombings moved away from her city, Veronika decided to return to what was once her home, in search of Masik. And the big cat was right there: he had become a stray and he no longer wanted to follow her homebut it was really him. So the little girl decided that she would go and bring him food every day.
An important mission
Masik, being now a stray, was always surrounded by other street catsa, perhaps once belonged to someone, who maybe now no longer exists. Veronika therefore decided to take care of all of them by bringing them food:
“Those kittens need someone to take care of them and if I don’t take care of them, it will be hard for them,” said the little girl in an interview.
Veronika’s is a real mission: she does every day around the neighborhood and of those which had once been houses and which are now only symbols of lives, human and animal, marked for eternity.
